I don't think he'll be too upset considering his book has sold in the tens of thousands.

Depends on the colour of the cover. Ghaddafi sold millions of his Green Book, and Mao dispatched Billions of the Red Book. Nevertheless circulation figures did not accrue to content quality and I know what I say for at least the Red Book I have ;)

(am beginning to sound like Yoda, but my drift you get :D )

I was browsing about using 'ww2talk review' (as I sometimes do when wondering about external opinions of here), and pottered onto Greywolf's Amazon review pages.

Interesting 'debate' there, and some links, offered without comment, which add to thighmail's post earlier:

Hitler en Argentina - Abel Basti

Though as it seems so many of the critical & merely curious are obviously the same person according to the author, I shall await my identity crisis...

Any more emerged of late 'Matahari'?

V-P, one of the more interesting things you'll have noticed is an academic, and a respected published one at that, willing to put his ha'pennyworth in print ;)

And...ahem...Gerrard's reaction to his input!

I Strongly believe Adolf Hitler died in Argentina.
I mean, He did escape weeks before he so called "died".
It was his Double Gustav Weber that pretended to be Adolf, while Eva, Adolf, His Children and other High-Ranking SS Officials escaped on U-boat 977. They all died of Natural Causes in the 70's at Hotel Vienna. Just look at Buenos Aires, It's been "Germanized" in the early 50's. I spent hours looking into this.

Therefore what I say on the subject matter must be taken as expert opinion.

Of course he went to Argentina, I used to make a poker table with him over there, together with Elvis and the Sasquatch. When Elvis died (actually he didn't, he was abducted but nobody likes to mention the fact) Nessie took his chair over to everyone's benefit, as Nessie didn't smoke nearly as much.

Adolf Hitler died in 1971 at Hotel Vienna, when a flood was going on, the hotel collapsed, and Hitler was sleeping, And he swept away into the Atlantic Ocean.

I read a novel that said Stalin had captured Hitler. He had him put (naked) in a hanging cage in a room that was always lighted. He saw to it that his “guest” got the best medical care and was well nourished but no one was ever allowed to speak to him.

Stalin would visit him daily but he, too, never spoke to him.

Of course Hitler soon became insane (if he was sane to begin with) and that greatly amused Stalin.

    Justice I think.

There's been an important development concerning the book "Grey Wolf - the Escape of Adolf Hitler" and its associated film...

The Regius Professor of History and President of Wolfson College in the University of Cambridge, Sir Richard Evans, has now publicly denounced the book as a conspiracy theory and 'fantasy-history.'

Sir Richard is Principal Investigator and overall director of a project examining conspiracy theories that 'claim that true history has been suppressed by a conspiracy of silence, and that the real explanation of key events lies in the development of a hidden conspiracy. This genre of historical writing has an obvious parallel with Holocaust denial,' he says. And "Grey Wolf" is one of his targets.

Sir Richard is the most prominent historian to attack the book. His investigation takes criticism of "Grey Wolf" to a new and dangerous level - dangerous that is for the authors and publishers. For Sir Richard was the principal expert witness for the defence in the unsuccessful libel action brought by David Irving against Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books in 2000 over allegations of Holocaust denial and the falsification of history. He's published a book about it called "Telling Lies About Hitler" (2002). Now he's set his sights on "Grey Wolf".

You can read more about the project in the article below that I found on the Internet. "Grey Wolf" and Mr Williams and his co-author Simon Dunstan are mentioned in the third paragraph. The fourth paragraph lists some of Sir Richard qualifications. They are formidable.

Sir Richard Evans is Principal Investigator and overall director of the project. He will take a leading role in co-ordinating the various strands of investigation and in putting together a collectively written short study of conspiracies and conspiracy theories that will summarise the whole programme towards the end. His own research will focus on two areas, taking further his own long-term interest in, respectively, Nazism and historical epistemology.

The first of these two projects applies the conspiracy theory paradigm to modern anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. This is a field in which a great deal of work has been done, on topics ranging from the Dreyfus Affair in France to the ‘stab- in-the-back’ legend of the First World War and the murderous Nazi fantasy of the global Jewish conspiracy in the Urtext of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. There is room, however, for a study that updates the literature on Holocaust denial, which has so far been confined mainly to neofascist variants and has neglected Islamist-extremist variants, arguably now dominant. No study has located Holocaust denial convincingly in the context of the longer history of anti-Semitism or the wider structures of conspiracy theories. The research will take a transnational approach, looking at European and global networks of Holocaust denial and antisemitism since the nineteenth century.

The second research project will examine the proliferation in recent decades of what might be called fantasy-histories, which are based on a real or implicit claim that true history has been suppressed by a conspiracy of silence, and that the real explanation of key events lies in the development of a hidden conspiracy. This genre of historical writing has an obvious parallel with Holocaust denial, but its focus is less overtly political and it takes many different forms. Examples of this kind of history include The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln (influential in the gestation of the world bestesller The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown), Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf Hitler by Simon Dunstan and Gerrard Williams, The Murder of Rudolf Hess by Hugh Thomas, and many similar books. The aim will be to understand why the authors write such works, why, in many instances, they are so popular, and whether or not people really believe in them. The project will also examine fiction and film in the same genre.

Sir Richard is Regius Professor of History and President of Wolfson College in the University of Cambridge. He was educated at Oxford and has taught at several universities, including the University of East Anglia, and Birkbeck, University of London. He was the principal expert witness for the defence in the unsuccessful libel action brought by David Irving against Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books in 2000 over allegations of Holocaust denial and the falsification of history. His books include Death in Hamburg (1987), winner of the Wolfson History Prize and the William H. Welch Medal of the American Association for the History of Medicine, Rituals of Retribution (1996), winner of the Fraenkel Prize in Contemporary History, In Defence of History (1997), Telling Lies About Hitler (2002), and the trilogy The Coming of the Third Reich (2003), The Third Reich in Power (2005) (both shortlisted for the Los Angeles Times Book Awards), and The Third Reich at War (2008). He is currently completing The Pursuit of Power
