A very good friend of mine ( Doctor by profession who has a specialist interest in Parkinsonism) sent me this link .
Adolf Hitler's Parkinson's disease and an attempt ... [Eur J Neurol. 1999] - PubMed result

P also has a healthy WW2 interest and when last we met he mentioned this article.
Looks like it will be purchase job to get it but IMO Parkinsonism only complicated an already disordered psychological situation perhaps exacerbating his already compromised decision making process - either way it could not have helped him any.

Just read online that Hitler had Parkinsons Disease , was diagnosed by doctors in 1937 blamed his illness for his slowness of thoughts & actions for the reason the germans lost the war ?? some others say his symptoms were caused by syphilis caught off a german prostitute ??? this is the first ive heard of this, any ideas of its truth ??.....................i was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease when i was 32, im now 52 its a nightmare of an illness , hits yor body both physically & mentally, i wouldnt wish it on anyone, not even my worst enemy, but after reading some of the atrocities that hitler was at blame for i think i would make an exception in his case !!

It's worth remembering that Hitler ALSO seems to have suffered some longterm mental debilitation as a result of the July '44 bomb attack; he was suffering crippling migraines in the autumn and was referred for cranial xrays. These were the xrays used many decades later by Mark Benecke to compare with the Hitler dental bridgework in Moscow...

Question is - were these migraines part of an all-over medical condition, or was the medical condition misdiagnosed? Sadly, we'll never know now.

IIRC the Parkinson's Disease allegation came from Walter Schellenberg immediately postwar in Stockholm in discussion with Count Bernadotte.

Considering well-known the amount of "medication" that quack Morell foisted on him, if AH did not actually have Parkinson's it's no surprise he might have exhibited it's symptoms, together with a dozen other diseases as well.

    morell

1- Ultraseptyl to fight the catarrhal inflammation of the upper respiratory tract
2- Eubasin : a sulfa drug injected intragluteally to combat colds
3- Chinneurin : a drug that contain some chinin against colds
4- Omnadin : a mix of proteins, lipoid substances of gall and animal fats
    supposed to have antigenic properties

    ... and on to 27.

The Smart Set: Scent of a Führer - October 24, 2007

Guests at the Berghof, Hitler’s private chalet in the Bavarian Alps, must have endured some unpleasant odors in the otherwise healthful mountain air.
It may sound like a Woody Allen scenario, but medical historians are unanimous that Adolf was the victim of uncontrollable flatulence. Spasmodic stomach cramps, constipation and diarrhea, possibly the result of nervous tension, had been Hitler’s curse since childhood and only grew more severe as he aged. As a stressed-out dictator, the agonizing digestive attacks would occur after most meals: Albert Speer recalled that the Führer, ashen-faced, would leap up from the dinner table and disappear to his room.

A recent documentary I saw here in Berlin showed examples of footage taken during his last days and presenting medals to the Young boys. His hand behind his back was shaking badly.

As to medication, he was prescribed and took a lot and apparently became dependant on morphine.

I don't think that was possible. I always read that Grofaz didn't allow people to smoke in his presence.
