    Hi,

I'm also researching my paternal grandfather Gordon James Cole who was born in 1905 in Brighton, England, and I hope someone might be able to help or advise me with two specific initial questions I have.

First of all, I don't know whether Gordon Cole was in the military at all during WW2, but given his age he may well have been, and if so any info or pointers would be much appreciated. However, I know that he was in the army, from some time in the 1920s I think, and was stationed in India, and which links to my second question - was he still in India during WW2, and what regiment was he in whilst in India? I appreciate that this period in the military didn't start during WW2 so hope it's ok to enquire, particularly as it may have gone into the war.

Anyway, any help, information or advice would be gratefully received.

    Many thanks,
    Jon

You need to apply for his service record from MOD Glasgow, it will cost around £35.00 and take 9-12 months to arrive, this will give you full details of his service.
