5 RHA War Diaries Dated 15th Dec 1942
At first light the enemy was found to have cleared out, and we went hell for leather along the Wadi running NW ,meanwhile Aghelia was reported clear.
On the way K1 struck a delay action mine and was blown up .Unfortunately Captain G N Nicholson was killed. A tragic loss was felt by everybody.
L/Bdr Davy was badly shaken and Gnr Dixon slightly injured.

Not sure what K1 was ,G Batt had a range of vehicles K1 might designate a section /position (like OP) and not the vehicle it was traveling in,they had jeeps, dingos and OP tanks as well as the Sextons.I will check it out.

Dingo 2 man scout car so rule that out.

Later in Normandy K 1 was one of 4 half tracks ..I could be well wrong but looks like K1 is title of a function not necessarily the vehicle .

Hi everyone. I was recently fortunate enough to visit the History Room of G Parachute Battery (Mercer's Troop) RHA and was able to obtain copies of the three pages of the Diaries of December 1944. There is not a copy of these at The National Archives and nor do they seem to want to add them to their collection so here are the pages for anyone who wants to seem them
