Hi, I've recently acquired my grandads service records but am having a bit of trouble understanding them. I understand that BLA is British Liberation Army, NWE is North West Europe and RWF is Royal Welsh Fusiliers but if anyone can help me deciphering the rest that'd be great.

These are the main parts of the records I'm interested in knowing about for now..his overseas postings to NWE:

Hi, Yes BLA is British liberation Army, RHU is Re enforcement Holding Unit., TOS is Taken on Strength,SOS Stood of Strength, BAOR is British Army of the Rhine (post WW11)RWF could be Royal Welsh Fusiliers
If you look at my albums I have put the list of abbreviations that came with my fathers records many years ago.

SOS is 'Struck off strength' - much the same meaning!
