    Hi everyone

Below is a film clip of an as yet unknown RA unit engaging ELAS positions in Greece sometime in December 1944 or January 1945.

    Artillery Unit in Greece - December 1944 | WW2Talk

23rd Arm Bde, 139 Inf Bde, 4 Div and 3rd Greek Mountain Brigade all had 25 Pdrs, however the 64 Air landing Battery (2 Para Bde) had 75mm Howitzers.

Can anyone see anything that could help me identifying which of the above it is?

    Thanks

    Gus

    Hi

As luck would have it I have just figured it out.

It is 52 Battery of 1st Field Regiment RA who had two of their batteries operating in an area in between Piraeus and Faliron. This was taken at 1130 on 29th December 1944 whilst the battery carried out a "CM Task".

    Yes.

I transcribed 1 Fd Regt R.A.'s diary for their time at Cassino and that abbreviation is common.

    Thanks CF

    I figured as much.

Sadly the 3 Corp CB Int Report is missing for that day so won't be able to get any more info on it.
