Hi all,i wonder if anyone can help me with a 1941 Home Front Australian MkII helmet i just picked up.
It has the letters N.B.S.on the front with the number 20.Does anyone have any idea what these letters might be short for
    Im thinking,
National Bomb Squad or National Blood Service,
    Any ideas
    Thanks Mick

All I can find (at present) is that a SH Witt set up a National Broadcasting Service, also a request from New Zealand that members of the NBS accompany units overseas, I wonder therefore if these are not journalists.

Hmmmm Interesting,if it is a National Broadcasting Service lid,i wonder what the number represents.I know that British Fire Services helmets had numbers that represented Districts, more research needed by the looks of it
    Thanks a lot, Wills :D
    Cheers Mate
