I also have a copy of the Somerset County Gazette article about the aircrash in which he was killed, do you have it or do you wish me to email it to you? (It's a PDF file so I don't know if I can post it here, and also I cannot remember where I got it from!)

Andy - thanks very much for the MI9 report as I had not seen that. Very useful and helps to complete his entry. I have extracts from the Somerset County Gazette but could do with the full pdf if you could send it to me - cheers.

    Well done Andy,

The M19 report is his liberation Questionnaire. He did not complete an Escape and Evasion report that l can see.

    Regards,

    Nick

I'd like to see the Somerset Gazette report on the Liberator crash in which Herbert Buck died. Does anyone have it so they could email it to me or post it here? Thanks, Damien Lewis

Capt. Buck's story is so fascinating and tragic. I just started reading about the SIG, LRDG and SAS. While the accounts of their exploits in the desert and elsewhere are compelling, there is very little personal information. What was he like as a person? Did Capt. Buck have siblings? Children? What happened to his widow?
