help please?

    You say he's your Dad, but he was born in 1915 and there seems to be a marriage in 1939 before he enlisted in 1940..
    You say you were born 4 years before his death in 1978, so was there a second marriage (perhaps the first didn't survive the separation of WW2?)
    Presumably that's why you have so little of him, much was kept/lost by his first wife/family?

    I'd always assumed that Service Numbers in WW2 were unique but....

    The `Army` numbers are unique but the RAF have their own `system` :)

    Evening lads thanks for all the help would never of got this far without your input . Tricky dicky i will phone them and find out about the fee. Yes kevin he was married for the second time and most probally his first wife had all his papers and info .

    I would like to say a big thank you to tricky dicky for this information .I have been to the library and researched my family tree back to 1770. So THANK YOU tricky dicky
