    I've got a list of symbols used by brits and canadian on maps. Only thing i can't find is the symbol used for example on this map.

    Its the symbol U with two stripes outward on both tops looking somewhat like two wings on the U.

    Could someone help me with that?

    Hi,
    I think that the symbol is a trench. Just not a continuous stretch of trenches.

    Do you have a map of the region around Oldenzaal (north of Enschede) and eastwards over the German border a few kilometres (as far as Gildenhaus)?
