Hello all, Can someone please put me out of my misery and explain whether the Rifle Brigade, QVRs, Rangers were all part of the KRRC during WW2? Or were they all separate units throughout the war? Were the QVRs part of the Rifle Brigade in the same way as the Tower Hamlet Rifles, i.e. solely a TA Bn at the outbreak of war? I'm confused and could do with a hand ... Cheers Skip
Rifle Brigade & KRRC were seperate Regiments. Rifle Brigade was previously The 95th Rifles KRRC was the 60th Rifles. QVR Between the wars, the QVR was affiliated to the KRRC and re-constituted as two motorized battalions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Victoria%27s_Rifles http://www.rgjmuseum.co.uk/pages_photo/photo_0007.asp
Cheers Owen, very helpful, especially the fact that the QVRs were reorganised as the 7th and 8th Bns KRRC in 1941 ...
Hi, The 1/Rangers war diary entries for 1941 include explicit mention that they were part of the KRRC. Regards Tom

Tom & Owen, Thanks very much for these replies. I'm clear now and you've probably saved me making a couple of gaffs so much appreciated. Cheers Skip
Well done Owen for clearing this one up. I had the same confusion about these regiments when I was attempting to research my great grandfather and his WW1 service. He was with the 9RB, but fought alongside the 8 and 9 KRRC on several occasions, I really became quite confused.
