    Hi cswany,

Not my area really, but it looks like a Specialist rank insignia for the United States Army. Take a look at this webpage:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specialist_(rank)

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes

    Steve

One has two gold stripes/bars at the top the other has none.

Description 1940's, WW2, WWII, U S, Army, Patch, Original, Vintage, Eagle, Gold, Green
This is in good vintage condition
The size is about 2" wide by 3" high

Here is an image from another page. Very similar to yours. This relates to Specialist Rank 5.

So it appears that these were not WW2 patch's as advertised by etsy.

Thanks guys, my father was the company clerk for the 1637th Engineers "The Willing Globetrotters" so I would think this was one of his. My mother worked as and enlisted lady in the casualty office, but I think the color would be wrong; wouldn't marines have red in their badges?
