First of all thank you for letting my join your site. My name is Charlotte and i am hoping with a little help from you amazing people i can find out more about my grandfathers time in the Army.
I have received my grandfathers records from the national archives but where do i go from here ? Having very little military knowledge myself and the records being handwritten has made even decoding some of the basics time consuming. He was enlisted on 30.05.1940 to serve for the most part with the 227 fld P.K coy RE. My dream is to find out as much as i can and then be able to create some sort of document for my father of all the information that i have found.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

He's certainly wearing a Royal Engineers badge on his Field Service cap in the photograph.

If you haven't already looked at the "Trux" area of this forum, it may well give you an idea of the trades and organisation of a Field Park Company.
