I am pretty new myself and I would like to welcome you also. In the short time I have been visiting here I have found there are some great folks that come here. They will do all they can to help you should you have any questions. I have gotten a lot of good solid information here and learned much from the more experienced members. Again welcome and hope to see you here often. You have to listen closely, these Brits speak the Kings' English, but they have an accent and you have to listen closely to them.
WW2boy Welcome ! I've allready posted some messages on this forum, but I can't remember all the forums and threads I posted them. Is there an option on this forum, where I can find all the threads I posted something? So I can update and answer other people again. At the top of this page click on "USER CP" This will show you, amongst many other things, all the postings you have made (Look on the left hand column for LIST SUBSCRIPTIONS and then click on SUSCRIBED THREADS) Enjoy ! Ron
I hope and pray you know I was kidding, trying be humorous no insults were meant. If you have ever visited the states you know our Southern States have their own accents. Here in Pennsylvania many of the Pennsylvania "Dutch or Germans" who live in the more rural areas sound like they came from Germany. Their families have been here for centuries but their accent is still very strong. During the war other recruits often thought people from our area were recent German immigrants. However their families came here in the early 1700s. "You have to listen closely, these Brits speak the Kings' English, but they have an accent and you have to listen closely to them."
