Hello everyone, I'm a new member on this forum! First I'll introduce my self: I'm a 17 year old boy from the Netherlands. Right now I have my ''Havo'' exams. Next year I'm going to study ''IBMS'' (International Business Management and Studies) in the city of Breda. But what really matters on a site like this: I'm interested in World War 2 since I was 7 years old, that means for 10 years now. I allways liked to watch World War 2 documentaries, even on that age. In the following years I started to do more research and I was spending a lot of time on World War 2 with different school projects. In the past 4 years I started to collect World War 2 movies and documentaries for my self, so I can watch them when ever I want. I've collected all the WW2 movies available in the Netherlands on dvd and a lot of documentaries also. Besides of that, I'm placing regulary orders on sites like Amazon to get the movies which aren't available in our small country! Collecting of those things has become one of my hobbies, but when I've time I read some books. On the internet I'm reading articles almost all the time, and that is why it is one of my favorite source for information about World War 2. I decided to register on a English/International World War 2 forum because the dutch ones aren't that full anymore. It is like there is less interest for the subject. I have registered my self on different English/International forums right now, because I really want to talk about World War 2 with as many people as possible. This means that I'll have a lot of people to talk with, because this is just one of the 3 forums I registered on. But that won't be a problem, I'll be very active on all of those forums. The English language might be a problem at some point, but I think I'll handle it quite good at the time. I hope to speak with all of you in the next days, weeks, months and years! (Maybe not the upcomming 2 weeks, because of the central exams... I want to succeed ). WorldWar2Boy
Welcome to the forum WW2Boy; there are a few Dutch members who regularly contribute to this forum, so you are in good company. And your English is very good, so you have no worries there. Is there any aspect of WWII that you are particularly interested in? I wish you success with your exams and look forward to you posting on the forum in due course! Best, Steve.
Hi WW2Boy, Welcome to the forum, as is always the case your English is better than most of ours!! Enjoy.

I'm interested in many things, but the main aspects will be: - Greatest Battles and Wars (Overlord, Bulge, Barbarossa not that much but the general things about the activities on the Eastern front (Concentration kamps, 36e Waffen-SS Grenadier Division -Dirlewanger Brigade- etc). - Japans military during World War 2 - Germany's military (mainly the commanders, like Erwin Rommel and Gerd von Rundest) and the occupation of Western Europe So it is not exactly one thing, I'm trying to learn a lot about much things. For example, for school I've made a more then 33 pages project only about the SS, and it wasn't really finished yet.
Welcome aboard, mate. Seems like you are another candidate for the ABDACOM (mainly NEI in your case ) Club All hands welcome!
Thank you al. En bedankt, tot nu toe weinig gedaan voor de examens, maar het meeste is herhaling. Het zal wel goed komen denk ik.
Welcome WW2Boy, I think you will like Breda when you go to study there. I know it quite well as my Mother (Dutch) married an English soldier there in 1945. A special place for my family. Rob
Yes Rob, Breda is a very nice city. During World War 2 there was a lot of fighting out there. When the Germans invaded the Netherlands in may 1945, the city I live in (more like a town, I live in Etten-Leur, a city with a population of 42.000) was an important connection area (it connects a few big city's, like Breda and Roosendaal). During World War 2 this town was not that big as it is now, but I achieved to find some pictures of it, which are taken just after the attacks. Breda is just 7 KM (4,4 miles) from my home, sometimes I go by bike to the city centre. :P Slipdigit: on almost all the forums where I'm active I use this username. The same for games, for example: my PSN account is called ''WorldWar2Boy'' also, like my YouTube account is, my account on Skyscrapercity and a lot of other forums and sites. So it is possible that you've seen my name somewhere else. :P Thanks spidge! -- I have one question: I've allready posted some messages on this forum, but I can't remember all the forums and threads I posted them. Is there an option on this forum, where I can find all the threads I posted something? So I can update and answer other people again.
