Hi Gotthard, thanks for your reply. All aspects of Berlin are of interest to me. I visit the city often, have some good friends living over there. I like to do "comparison" photos, "then and now", you know the sort of thing. But I also like to read the history of the city. There has just been a rather good 3 part programme on BBC2 T.V. all about Berlin. Did you watch it?
Rudi, Hello and welcome from Berlin. I am sure that you will enjoy this forum. Regards Tom And it didnt take long for "Our man in Berlin" to make himself known!! Good man Tom!
Greetings from Canada, Rudi. A city in Ontario, Kitchener, was known as Berlin up until 1916 when a referendum changed the name who had just drowned or was about to [June 5, 1916 west of the Orkneys]. Good to have you with us. cheers, phil
Hi Rudi, Welcome from the Australian contingent. Good to see someone from Norfolk. One side of the family tree goes back to Little Dunham in the mid 1700's Cheers Geoff

Nothing like a bit of useless information to start the day.

You gotta be looking forward to full blown summer, Geoff. Trade you some snow, mate. cheers, phil

Hello and welcome. An excellent book. Berlin Then and Now: Amazon.co.uk: Tony Le Tissier: Books Hi Gage, yeap, great book. I bought it some years ago, expensive, but very good.
Many thanks to everyone for your greatings. May I just ask one quick question? I had a look in some Berlin related threads, and a couple of posts were describing the locations of several photos taken whilst on holiday in Berlin, but no photos appeared on the page. Being very new on the forum, do I have to wait for some kind of "clearance" before I am permitted to see certain photos? There did not appear to be any indication that the photos had been removed by the poster, but other members are referring to the pictures, so they must have been there at some stage. Great forum by the way! I may not get much time on it, as I am on other forums as well! Just not enough time in the day!
