I do have a quest but I didn't join this website expecting someone else to do all the leg work for me. I would appreciate info on where to look and then do the leg work myself.
    My quest:
My father was born in 1913 and died in 1986. For many years all we knew about him was that he was in the RAF police, stationed in Malta and returned to England from Italy on a train. And that's it.
My elder brother has recently obtained my fathers service record but it is very scant in information.
We've worked out that he went to RAF Padgate for training followed by time at RAF 9 Blackpool.
    His occupation was RAF provost/intelligence.
How do I find out which battalion/unit/group my father was attached to? Did the RAF police have such units with names/numbers etc

That's all for now, one step at atime.

    Thanks.
