Hi all I am an English woman living in sweden married to a Swedish man.

I started researching my family tree because of the death of my great grandfather Henry John Sedge The Buffs, along the way I am discovering more family members that served and lost their lives as well as those that served and survived (those are lost stories) My great nan had a brother KIA 1916 her husband KIA 1917 and 2 brother in laws one killed in 1918 and the other 1917.

I also have a grandfather still alive that served in the 2nd war but only until now have i discovered some of his secret war history some of which are in this book XD Operations by CCH Brazier and soon to be a 2nd as the author didn't realise that 1 member was still alive.

Also my father served in the mid east problems (starting at the age of 14 as a boy soldier and ending up as a captain) the ex husband serving 22 years as the brother in law and my brother in the Engineers.

And my 2nd husband a tank driver in the Swedish forces.

if you look closley I have the W D plus arrow on the rump. Born in a military hospital and married 1st time in a military church.

I have moved around and lived in 36 different houses and went to 10 different schools.

I have plans to move only once more and that will be South to Spain when I retire.

Thanks to the members from GWF for showing me the way.

    Hello Lynne,

While researching the records of my regiment the North Irish Horse from WW I, much material has been accumulated about other units. Perhaps, some may have information on those who gave their lives as mentioned in your posting: "My great nan had a brother KIA 1916 her husband KIA 1917 and 2 brother in laws one killed in 1918 and the other 1917." Do you know the units in which they served?

Welcome to the Forum. With best wishes to you and yours,

    Gerry
