Hi everyone.....my name is Peter and I served for 24 years in the RAF 1964 to 1988 as a Supplier General. Thankfully , all my service was completed in peacetime. I am now retired and have decided to do some research in to my fathers and his brothers wartime service. I have already received my dads record from the MOD (he passed away in 1992) and his brother was killed in 1943. Last night I was talking to my mum,who is now 92 and she threw me a bit of a curved ball when she said that dads brother, 553248 SGT Jack Dale Perrett had joined the RAF under age (told a porkie) but had at some stage been the Private Wireless Operator to ACM Tedder, and because he was known to be under age,he was not allowed to leave the aircraft wherever they landed. Can anyone throw any light on that statement ?
