Helicopters as far as the eye can see.....

    I took these snaps at an air show at Middle Wallop some years ago, I think maybe late 80s early 90s. I had never seen so many Helicopters in one place, probably never will again. If memory serves me right Lynx, Gazelle, Scout?

    went to see that in early/mid 80s, awesome sight all those choppers popping up out of the countryside .
    i have some pics up in loft including a Landy with a Wombat in the back.

    Owen, we must have been at the same air show, those choppers just appeared from nowhere, seemingly out of the ground. Thing you might be right about the time line.

    my pics I got out of loft & just scanned .
    these are from 1984 going by rest of pics in that album.
    notice I took more photos of vehicles than choppers.
    back in those days I didnt take many pics at all.
    had to pay for developing & film from my pocket money.

    Takes me back. Middle Wallop was always a great show.
    "You are now being observed by a dozen modern attack helicopters"
    Nothing in the sky. Sod all. No sound. Nothing.
    Then they rose up from behind their hiding places,
    Marvellous.

    Thought these might be of interest....Re post #1 The Lynx. Gazelle and Scout helicopters - aircraft ID document 'Air Sentry List' MOD March 1985. Hope its out of date :)
