Interesting to see the walls marked with the 9, 12 and 3 o'clock positions, presumably to orientate the gun in action. Camera would then be at about 5 o'clock.

I was reading up on something non- WW2 but as usual it ends up with a connection.
There was a nightclub in the flaktower.
I was reading that LotL lead singer Chris Harms is still carrying some of the Yugoslavian hand grenade around in him.

Im Zuge des ESC-Vorentscheids und dem dadurch entstandenen gesteigerten öffentlichen Interesse an der Band Lord of the Lost berichtete Harms im Frühjahr 2023 in diversen Medien, dass er am 29. April 2000 bei einem Anschlag auf den in einem Bunker an der Feldstraße auf dem Heiligengeistfeld gelegenen Hamburger Club J's schwer verletzt wurde. Bei der Veranstaltung, die von dem als „Partykönig“ bekannten Eventmanager Michael Ammer organisiert wurde, versteckte ein Attentäter in der Sitzecke des VIP-Bereichs eine jugoslawische Handgranate, die gegen 3 Uhr morgens detonierte. Neun Menschen, darunter der heutige LOTL-Sänger, wurden von den herumfliegenden kleinen Stahlkugeln getroffen und teilweise lebensgefährlich verletzt. Harms überlebte, trägt aber bis heute noch etliche der mittlerweile eingekapselten Kugeln im Körper, da eine Entfernung nach eigenen Angaben mehr Schaden anrichten würde, als sie dort zu belassen.

They're doing a lot of work on the tower. It's going to be transformed with 5 new stories being added and Hamburg's highest garden. I'm visiting the city next Spring watching St. Pauli play at their home stadium, Millerntor, which is right next door.
