Has anyone come across any good links or reference, preferably in English to the Waffen SS veterans group HIAG?
Hilfsgemeinschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Soldaten Der Ehemaligen Waffen-SS (organization of former military-SS members)
I can find that they were disbanded in 1992 (though regional groups still seem to survive) and seemed primarily concerned with obtaining war pensions for SS veterans, I can also find a few biographies of founder members but very little else.
Any more information would be great.
    Cheers,
    Adam.

Doesn't seemed to have actually disbanded, just gone underground. In English, they are known as Mutual Aid Association for Soldiers of the Former Waffen-SS)

There's a 2002 Telegraph article about their activities in Britain:

and the far-right forums seem to still talk about their activities:

(this article - very badly translated - talks about one of their meetings)

It's worth reading "The Beast Awakens" by Martin Lee as, even though HIAG is only briefly mentioned, most of the main characters were involved in a number of veterans organisations, politics, etc., and all these organisations seem to have quite common memberships e.g. Remer, Skorzeny etc.

    Cheers,
Found some stuff on Feldgrau, coincidentally from a couple of weeks ago, confirming the veterans magazine is still published.
Enquiry was triggered by the memory that thousands attended 'Papa' Hausser's funeral in 1972, Sepp Dietrich also had a huge turnout some time in the 60's, hoping for a balanced or serious report somewhere I found pretty much the same current political nonsense. The secrecy seems to be quite good, understandably I suppose, especially considering Peiper's firebomb killing in '76.

Anyone know if the French ever charged someone with murdering Peiper?
Pretty low priority case I'd guess...

As far as I know there have been no charges. However, the initial responsiblity was claimed by a group, which I think was called the Avengers, who were thought top be a groupof ex-resistence fighters. However, it is actually believed that Mossad was directly or indirectly involved.
