Does anyone recollect knowing a lady called Gwen Gilham?

Amongst some photographs belonging to my late father was one of an uniformed lady; on the reverse of the photo was the name

    Gwen Gilham
    and beneath this was written
    154 Transit Camp,
    Moustapha Barracks,
    Alexandria.

The photograph would have been taken just before, during or soon after WWII.

    Any replies would be appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Susie

Hi, can you put up a photo..I have no knowledge but we need more stuff about women who were around then. Generally it is harder to find out as those who were there are nearly all dead now. I am intrigued by someone my father met in Durban passing through and mentioned in his diary but there is nothing more!

    Hi,

I'd love to attach a photo but can find no attachment symbol on the above tool bar.

Any instructions on how to put a photo on this site would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Thanks to much help from my son a photo of Gwen Gilham has been inserted in the Gallery.

Would anyone who recognises her (perhaps her cap badge would help to identify her regiment(?)) please contact me as any help, suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
    Her cap badge suggests she was in the ATS, the following site might give you some idea of the work they did;

    Hi Pete,

Thank you for your suggestion and now I've looked more closely I can see the initials ATS on the cap badge.

I can now focus on that area .....

    Kind regards
