Can anyone place this chap, or has any information around him. Thomas Hurrell from Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland. He was a gunner in the Royal Artillery. Service number 867338 POW number 16309. Before the war he had worked as a barber. He was a POW at Stalag XXA, Fort XV, at Thorn, Poland from 1940 to March 1942, then he was moved to BAB 20 at Reigersfeld, Ober Silesia. When on the march away from BAB 20 in early 1945 he fell sick on 19th February between Bosin and Hohnerwasser. From here his friends never saw him again. Up till now I have drawn a blank around him.

Thanks CL1 It is Thomas W Hurrell. After I had posted I realised that I had missed the ' W ' I have tried Ancestry and suspected that the best candidate had died in London, but there was no family tree connecting, so I could not follow up. It looks like Hugh Maclean has given the evidence that I have been searching for. Thanks for your time.
Thanks very much, this is an evidence that I have not seen before, and completes the ' jigsaw.' This appears to confirm that he survived the march from BAB 20. He most likely received treatment when he fell ill.
Thanks Tricky Dicky. It looks like Hugh Maclean has posted the missing piece of the Jigsaw with the reference to his discharge. His friends had thought he had probably died on the march. Thanks for your time.
Thanks Guy, Your information has given me his date of birth. Hugh Maclean has provided his discharge. So this provides the evidence that he survived the march from BAB20 after falling ill, as his friend had thought that he had perhaps died. Thanks for you time.
