Looking for some help deciphering my granddad's army records. There are so many abbreviations and acronyms that I can't figure out. I'll post the ones that are giving me the most headaches! He appears to have done 6 months in England, 6 months in Austria and 5 months in Egypt.

Thanks for the link. I also had the "useful abbreviations" list that came with the files. Still figuring out what it all means but I gather that... He was in the uk between 14/2/46 - 13/8/46 He was then deployed to the Mediterranean 14/8/46 - 31/10/46 but was then struck of strength and sent to British Troops Austria between 1/11/46 - 6/2/47 Then back to the CMF 7/2/47 - 7/3/47 before being sent to the Middle East Land Forces - MELF 8/3/47 - 17/7/47 Finally, back to the UK 18/7/47 - 13/8/47
