Very nasty at times. William Quantrill and William 'Bloody Bill' Anderson were two of the worst, supposedly supporting the Confederate States' cause, but sometimes inflicting violence on anyone who was in their paths. Frank and Jesse James also rode with guerrilla groups, continuing to live violent lives after the war ended.
