I forgot to post here when I first rejoined the other day. I say "rejoined" because I forgot the password to my old account, and I'm locked out of the email I signed up with My name is Jeff. I'm in my 40s, and have been a military history buff since I was a kid. My main areas of interest are the World Wars and Vietnam, but mostly World War II thanks to my late grandfather who was a WWII (U.S. Army Signal Corps) veteran and the best friend I've ever had. I'm also a militaria collector specializing in ribbons & medals and uniforms. I started collecting around 1988 and couldn't ask for a better hobby. I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I do have extensive knowledge of American, British, German, French, and, to a certain extent, Soviet awards and uniforms. I'm always happy to answer questions and offer assistance whenever possible. I'm very approachable, so don't be afraid to shoot me a PM if you have a question. It's getting late, and I have work tomorrow, so I'm going to go pass out. Have a good night, everyone!
Hi Jeff Welcome - I’m a new member as I joined the Forum this week! Like you I’ve been a military history buff since I was a boy (I’m in my 50s now). I’m very interested in WW2 of course and also in the Cold War (my military interests started at its height) and the Falklands War. I also went through a phase of reading a lot about Vietnam and find that era fascinating; it overlaps with my Cold War interests. In addition to this, I follow US politics closely and so I might send you a PM from time to time to get your take on that. Cheers James
Hi Dave! Small world, I'm actually in Bergen County. About 5 minutes from the NJ/NY border to be exact. I'm afraid I haven't heard anything lately about the Ling. Just thinking about what those idiots did to it makes me pretty angry. I'm still hoping there's a chance it may one day reopen to the public.
I'm not sure these Limeys will allow another Septic named Jeff. We'll have to ask them and you may have to buy a round for everyone to kinda grease the skids. I'm in the great State of Alabama and I have been agitating here since 2007. I also lurk about ww2f.com, where you will also see some of the same ne'er-do-wells. Roll Tide!
Welcome, Jeff. I live in Mass of Juices but I'm really just a New Yorker in exile from Da City, so I know Jersey pretty well.
