I recently found this site and immediately joined. I've been interested in WW II since the 4th or 5th grade, when I read an abridged version of Guadalcanal Diary by Richard Tregaskis. When I was 11, my interest deepened with a trip to Pearl Harbor. Although my primary interest is the Pacific theatre, I am well read in all aspects and theatres of the war.

    Welcome Coastwatcher 42.

The Coastwatchers played a vital role in the many successes that were so important in those early days of the Pacific war and beyond.

Admiral William F. Halsey recorded that the Coastwatchers saved Guadalcanal, and Guadalcanal saved the Pacific.

    Welcome Coastie...

Hopefully you'll post some stuff on the Far East. We get hardly anything posted on here from anywhere east of India :)
