Green Plaque: A.V.Roe (Sir Edwin Alliott Verdon Roe), Longstaff Estate,Wandsworth,London
This, is the only 'Hurried' connection, that I could find today in Longstaff Crescent / Road.
Its bang on the A3 mate very near the Wandsworth H33 fire station
the little roads within the estate are called Longstaff Estate
Thanks Clive, next time I'm down that way again...
Edwin Alliott Verdon Roe, born 26 April 1877, Knighted 27 March 1929, changed his surname to Verdon-Roe by deed pole in 1933.
His two sons:
Eric Alliott Verdon-Roe
Clive, I turned in to Lebanon road on Thursday only to find the road was closed (Nothing new there) Friday, I tried again, the road was open, pulled in to the Longstaff estate and took a wander. Asked a local walking through and he showed me where the plaque is. Sadly I had forgot my camera that day, unbelievable !! Anyway, I now know where it is. Many thanks for your help. Cheers !
Best laid plans eh!
