    Hi All

I am just in the process of hunting down the last few pictures for the Wickford and Runwell Roll-of-honour that will be out in the summer and being sold to raise funds to restore/improve the existing memorial, see Wickford War Memorial

There are a number of graves that I would love to get pictures of, the list would be quite long nut if anyone is visiting any of the following places I will happily supply details

    North Africa
    Far East, Burma/Singapore
    Germany,
    Holland.

    Many thanks
    Steve

The CWGC is happy to supply photos of any of the graves looked after by them for a small fee.

That is a great service however I am presently compiling the deaths of 10,836 RAAF serviceman 1939-1945 so even a small fee is out of the question except for a few hotspots and hard to reach areas where there are only one or two photos required like some of the ones below:

Anyone that is able to supply photos for any of these areas or graves it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Gen & Owen for starting me off with my collection.

Let me ask a stupid question just to understand this. You're compiling a full list of all RAF graves, while in Victoria in Australia, and you're after photo's of said graves from wherever they might be?

    cheers,

    Not a silly question!

I am compiling a list of all RAAF graves not RAF.

Could have been an impossible assignment 20 years ago however the wonder of the Internet and digital photography have levelled most of the barriers.

Many members on this forum have gone out of their way and given up their valuable time to secure many hundreds of photos in the UK alone.

My collection will be available FREE to anybody who requires them with no "donations" required.

I had a query from a pensioner in Sydney (only surviving sister) who lost her brother in the UK and had never been able to travel to see his grave. I luckily had the photo which I was able to forward to one of her friends who in turn had a print made for her.

I am told it was a very emotional time for her.

If you can assist with the project I would be most appreciative.

Okay thanks for the illumination, I'm in Margate and I see from your list there's one RAAF burial there. Do you have this one yet?

Also let me know about the other Kent cemetaries, many are quite close.

    Great response.

    Thanks WotNoChad.

I have attached the list however it may be a bit scrambled.

If you like I can send it to your email. If so, send me a PM.

When I go up to Darwin, I will make a special trip to a town south of Darwin called BATCHELOR....there is our main Northern war cemetary there, and every pilot who died in the Darwin airwar, and serviceme from other branches.....i think theres a seperate section for civilians killed in Darwin (the post office was hit and a number of workers killed)....

Batchalor Cemetary is a well kept burial site......I'll keep you posted on the progress,; this should help you quite a bit, cause most of our Aussie pilots that died in Australi are all from the Darwin airwar, so most will be buried at Batchelor.....

    All RAAF Christos.

The only listings I have are the Northern Territory Memorial (164 listings) for those with no known graves and the Adelaide River War Cemetery (196 burials).

Is there one at Batchelor as well or were you going to Batchelor?

    Cheers

I will go to both and get you a picture of EVERY GRAVE promise.....This for me, is giving me some kind of PURPOSE for my Darwin soiree'...I don't really like tropical weather and I'm only going back up there to help my mom's business...this project and other research into Darwin's air-war will be just the 'tonic' I need to make my stay in the north a little bit more agreeable.
