The cemetery is in the centre of Herwijnen, 45 metres north of the dyke road to Gorinchem. The two British graves are in the south-eastern part, near the entrance. WORKUM (SPOORDYK) GENERAL CEMETERY Workum is a town on the edge of the Ijsselmeer (Zuyder Zee) some 30 kilometres due south of Harlingen. The cemetery is on the south-eastern side of the town on the road to the railway station. This road is known as the Spoordyk. Close to the entrance are the graves of nine airmen, six of whom came from the United Kingdom and three from Canada.
