First question now I've found some time to look properly. Ref the two BEF units can you confirm the records are for the same person. Wright is a common ish name so wondering if someone has made a mistake? Look for service numbers, date of birth and home address etc to confirm its the same person if you can.

I have had a quick look through I Corps Signals war diary and nothing jumps - I was hoping the diary stated what date they left France but it ends before they get to Dunkirk.

I've not got their war diary yet - It does seem odd there is two units listed at the same time. I can't say I've ever come across that before.

I think the mistake may be on my part Andy
    .
I assumed looking at the first jpeg that I Corps went right up to 4.6.40 as it doesn't mention anything else.

But looking at the second jpeg maybe there was a change 2.3.40 to II Corps even though it doesnt say on the first sheet

btw looking at the second jpeg was 65th Transit Camp in the UK?

    Hi Busta,
    ‘19/6/42 embarked for Iraq on craft 466 Serial 1832(?) 466 would be a Mk3 LCT, seems a bit early for a Mk3.’

I have also found those IWM photos of LCT 466, great aren’t they?, but unfortunately the dates don’t tie up.
From the uboat.net link (and other sources) LCT 466 wasn’t launched until 1943.
My Uncle was on LCT 488, hence my interest in LCTs. Link here if you are interested: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/people-ww2/39792-my-uncle-martin-long-loss-hmlct-488-a.html

So it appears the reference ‘embarked for Iraq on craft 466 Serial 1832(?)’ does not relate to LCT 466, it is probably a different vessel reference altogether.
Sorry if that does not help much but perhaps it suggests checking the dates mentioned or perhaps other areas of research.

    Hi,

Very interesting and complex service record.

I think I have correctly read the entry that that set the hare racing on the above quote as "DRAFT 466 SERIAL 1832".
