In memory of those soldiers of the 82nd Airborne and civilians who lost their lives at Graignes, Normandy, 11 June 1944. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/ww2-battlefields-today/27035-graignes-massacre.html Keith
I live in the next Village to Graignes and at the moment I am reading a new book called 'Les Paras Perdus' by Dominique François. This book was loaned to me by a friend ,it contains several pages detailing the events of the Battle of Graignes and how they affected her Mother and Grandparents resulting in the death of her Grandfather. I was brought up on stories of the Blitz in Liverpool and my Dad's time as a 'D.Day Dodger 'so I find it fascinating listening to stories of life in occupied France. Regards Gill
