    1941. The Yanks joined in the war to save the Brits, and a few others like us.

    1943. Stalingrad, Kursk, Kharkov etc. all make it the, if not one of, most interesting periods of WWII. There were the Italy landings as well, but I don't know too much about them. Always room for improvement though, it's never too late to learn, I say.

    1943. For the same reasons Gotthard and Za did and because of intensification of partisan warfare against the Germans in many countries.
