Bath Old Books. Not a military specialist, but with a select stock which includes a few shelves of military - none of it dross and all in at least "good" condition - although they do know how to charge:

10 of the best: Secondhand bookshops | Life and style | The Guardian

They don't have anything so vulgar as a website, but you can e-mail them:

I had the pleasure of visiting their house (appointment only) containing some 8,000 plus military books whilst I was in the Folkstone area. Two great little dogs kept Andrea busy while I parted with over £100 on books before she knew what was happening.

If you get a chance to visit they are a very friendly, helpful, chatty family buisness run from a home and are always seem happy to help you find books amongst the thousands on shelves. They gave me a discount too.

One more - found it by chance but well worth a look if you are ever in the area. Excellent range of WW2 books and reasonably priced too.

    Military Parade Bookshop
    The Parade

Barter Books in Alwick has quite an extensive Military Section - luck is needed as its a busy place but treasures do turn up!

In London I would recommend Skoobs in Bloomsbury and the Gloucester Road Bookshop near Gloucester Road tube station.

For online try Chelifer Books at Military Books: Second-hand & antiquarian Military books

Have any members ever been to this shop in Oxford and if so do they carry any Military books,
    The Last Bookshop
    107 St Aldates
    OXFORD Oxfordshire OX1 1BU map
Not secondhand, but a large shop of remarkably high quality remainders from mainstream publishers, especially strong on literature, art and history, and everything- incredibly - for £2. It’s like going in Blackwells with 1950’s prices. I bought over £100 worth of books for a tenner. - George Marshall 23.09.10. Secondhand and Antiquarian Bookshops in Oxfordshire I ask as along with Foyles both are opening shops in Bristol soon.

The Bristol one opened today, actually: it's on Park Street.

Haven't yet visited the Bristol branch of Last Bookshop, but I did make it to Foyles. Two words - don't bother. They seem to have just assumed they can plonk a second-rate London suburban shop in the centre of Bristol and make it work. Military/history section mainly paperback and very uninspired. Also totally illogically an enormous travel section in a city which boasts a 1500sq ft branch of Stanfords and a transport section consisting of three shelves: my particular interest of motor sport yielded just one book - Tom Rubython's dire biography of James Hunt.

On a more positive note, for anybody visiting or passing through Bath, there is - in addition to the inevitable overpriced Oxfam - a very well-presented charity shop run by the local homelessness charity Julian House. A bit off the beaten track, at 86 Walcot Street, but actually only five minutes walk from the main shopping centre (just a stone's throw from the Hilton and the YMCA) and well worth a visit, with a large, interesting and well-displayed book stock at very competitive prices. They definitely do not follow the Oxfam "how much can we screw out of people for this book we got for nothing?" pricing policy. Lots of military and history - and many other subjects too. It's in one of Bath's more Bohemian areas, with some small galleries, retro clothes shops and more. Good - but pricey - pub called The Tramshed nearby.

Should also have mentioned that Good Buy Books on the corner of Pierrepoint Street and Bog Island in Bath has an ever-changing selection of remaindered - although mostly generalist - military books. I picked up the IWM's "Outbreak 1939" there for £4.99 this week. Toppings at the top of George Street and the smaller Mr B's Emporium on John Street are two very good general bookshops - don't expect discounts, but you can expect good and knowledgeable staff.

Waterstones in Gower Street has an interesting military section onthe 3rd floor - on the first floor their is a used book section with some interesting finds on occassion - also a remainders section.

Opposite the British Library on Euston Road are two good remainder book shops in one all copies are £2 (includng Osprey Titles occassionally) the second has more recent volumes usually at 1/3rd original price
