Thought I'd add a few shots of my tent on the campsite in Berchtesgaden.

Bloody Hell mate that's bigger than ours & there are only 2 of you & 5 of us!!

Don't forget I need details of that campsite, please.

Been meaning to get down there for years.

I used to do a lot of camping. The family used to go to various places when we were little. One of my earliest memories is my parents wrestling to put up the family tent in a howling gale in Devon. God knows what would have happened had they let go. They would have had to find accommodation for 3 small children and 2 dogs! We also had a rather lovely Morris Oxford estate car which always broke down.

Over the years we went to Devon, Cornwall and Wales. The worst one (and the one I believe put my mother off camping for life) was 1978 in Wales. 2 weeks of solid rain, nowhere to dry anything and dealing as already mentioned with 3 young children and 2 dogs meant that in the end even she gave up and we packed the tent away, only to find we'd been sleeping on a small 'pond'!!

I also used to go camping with the Guides, bike rallies, re-enactments and so on. However due to an injury I found it harder to actual sleep out and have had to curtail those sorts of activities.

I once remebering going camping in the woods and we decided to go for a night time 'mission' around the area.

We came across a lad that was camping on his own. All he had was a mountain bike proped against a tree, the hammock he was laid in and the clothes on his back.

Now THAT IS roughing it!

There was a chap in our re-enactment society we used to call Stig/Stiggy (not not the one from Top Gear) and he was quite a character. Whilst the rest of us were either safe in tents or 'in hall' he would sling his hammock from his 'landy' and sleep outside, in all weathers.

He's one of these survival specialists like Bear Grylls or the guy that wrestles snakes and has been on TV at some point hunting and 'playing' with snakes and crocs etc as well.

A bit off his rocker if you ask me lol
