Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help? Im looking for any information about a glider pilot called George Douglas Cooksley. Apparently he was part of 1st Airborne Division and flew into Oosterbeek. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not showing anywhere in Glider Pilots at Arnhem

I've had a look a couple of lists I have for D-Day and Arnhem and don't see him

Hi, thanks for reply. It appears that he wasnt a pilot, he was in 1st Airlanding Division, not the GPR. Unfortunately, my friend knows nothing about her dad other than having his beret.
Thanks again for replying, it is appreciated.

Driver Cooksley was one of six soldiers from 261 Field Park Coy RE who were attached to 1 Parachute Squadron RE for Arnhem. It looks like he made it back across the river on Op Berlin

That's brilliant! Thank you, it ties in with what his daughter told me.
