    Hilarious 8RB, a cracking spot!

Always knew Patrick could pass selection for anything!

Kind regards, and extra lampooning by Delta House, always,

Talking heads on US TV are saying "Mount 'Bot' en" this morning.

Grates on a history buff's ear.

Painfully sat through Morgan Freeman's production, Black Panthers of World War II, about the 761st Tank Battalion. No shortage of mistakes an anyone here could have been hired as a consultant for that film.

    1) Wrong uniform. Main character in paratrooper smock.
    2) No tanker helmets.
    3) General commanding the American infantry division had four stars. They were only two star major generals.
    4) General was in 1970s Class A uniform. Even if the correct Brown/pink was worn, nobody wears that on the front.
    5) No tank on either side had periscopes. Cheap set and driver and bow MG soldier can change places easily.
    6) I did not know Shermans could fully operate with two men only. If he's real good, just one tanker needed. Must be early AI.

    and the lists goes on.

    It's the death of sub-editing.
At its worst: Feeling like you're having a stroke trying to process a headline.

    Anyway.
Not WW2, again, but at least military related.
I believe the Nyoo Yoik Times used to be a 'Paper of record'.
    Deary me. Cringe inducing stuff.

That reminded me of this goof in It Ain't Half Hot Mum, “Flight To Jawani”.

Didn’t need to attach the third photo, but couldn’t resist Windsor in full flow!

From the starboard wing marking that's a B-17 of the 457th Bomb Group based at Glatton, Cambridgeshire. Formerly Huntingdonshire.

Well blow me down, I didn’t know that, great spot - so unlikely to be in India in 1945 then! I only added that photo as a date/scene setter.

Snoopy was my blooper, of course - he didn’t appear until 1950 and, according to the Charles M. Schulz museum, Snoopy’s fighter pilot persona was a “first time” even later, 1965.
