A few I took within the old Gymnasium at Metheringham, Lincs july 2012. A Great Museum to Visit. Just One member made All of the 59 Lancaster Bomber models.

I do like Metheringham airfield, the Dakota they have there is pretty amazing.

Plus the rather large model glider.

 

Oooooh. Land of the Giants flashback with the Welbike in the foreground of the model Horsa!

And taken down said bike may well fit in the model Horsa

Good photographs there John ! Did you go aboard the Dakota while you were there ? We called there last year, spent ages looking about, sat in the cockpit of the Dakota...A Great Visit

Alas, the 'Airspeed 1:1' model is no longer available:

Cyril in the flat cap (bottom left) is wondering where the Instructions are ...... and when the glue bowser will arrive.

 

"Awaiting the flatbed carrying the two 500 pint tubes of adhesive was a task not to be sniffed at".

Noticed today as a component amongst the Remembrance display in a local Lindsey Lodge hospice charity shop:

Scale was 1:72; not a manufacturer brand I am familiar with and box a bit bashed, but looked quite a reasonable offering of a 'chariot' (Hebrew - merkava). Interesting gantry/chain superstructure depicted.

 

That kit would be hell on Boxing Day.

But we'll carry on carrying on, won't we.

 

Hopefully the charity will get some decent bunce for it QF (if prices from "other sellers" are anything to go by!)

Prices seem to have risen a tad since I was of an age to be sticking my fingers together
