Clive, Just got home and downloaded the other photographs I have taken over the last two days. It is coming along nicely. The upper deck is now complete and a test shows it will fit well. Probably get chance on Monday evening for a little more work on it. I cemented the engine hatches shut, but will make the commanders hatches open and close when I put the turret together. I am sure that it will OK when completed and painted, especially with the Panzer Commander figure with early headgear. Regards Tom
sebfrench, Many thanks. I have just finished cementing the upper deck to the chassis and have assembled the Canon and MG, installing them inside the turret. I have just clipped on the commanders twin piece hatchs, but will probably drill the hinges out and pin them later. The large side bin was fitted. Incidentally this piece is shown as not being required, but all the books I have and plan drawings for the different models of PzII show this being in place for this particular model. The brass exhaust protective cover was clipped in place just to see how it looks. The 2cm Canons flash guard was drilled out using the dimples in the mould, just to make it look more realistic. The wireless ariel was made to pivot by drilling the centre of axle and using a washer with self tapping screw to secure with a drop of superglue. I now have to remove the track from the spruces, clean and assemble before fitting. Regards Tom
Kevin, I had been neglection the modelling and so I decided I just had to make time, just a little each evening. Whilst the family are playing there respective musical instruments I am downstairs in the workshop!! Regards to both you and Michele. Tom
If anyone sees Tom's 1/6th Dragon Pz.II in a shop, I recommend cracking open the box and having a look. Corrrrr...
Adam, I have just spent half an hour cutting track links from the spruce and cleaning up. The first spruce with 24 links is now connected and it looks impressive. The instructions state 102 links per side, but the manufacturers state 106, so we will see, but regardless, several pieces of track should be left over for hanging on the tank. Regards Tom
Tom,for this kinda stuff, cutting and sanding track links,an advice:why don't you use a trainee, like we do in my job,to avoid all the boring steps in a building concept,héhéhé... A kind of Cinderella?(joking of course)

A kind of Cinderella?(joking of course) sebfrench76, I would employ the children, however they are all Teenies and work of any description other than school work, is not a priority. Clive, Thanks for the comments, making the models is a labour of love and sometimes frustration! Regards Tom
I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours ahead of this weekends hectic schedule due to our Burn's Night. The tracks are now complete and the tracks rolls nicely through the sprockets and wheels! I have placed a commander in the turret to see how it looks. I am quite pleased with the outcome so far and I have placed my 1/18th scale Tiger I by the side to show the difference in size. I can just picture a 1/6th scale Tiger alongside (I should be so lucky). I still need to drill out the hinges on both hatches and see what else I can add. The track took 103 links and there was just enough pins with non left over for coupling together spare track links I will just have to make some. Regards Tom
I am now extremely annoyed with myself for disposing in various ways all of my old models and toy soldiers. Matches, WD40, white spirit and other flammable liquids put paid to all of them. Either that or just binned. Me too, most of my tanks fell victim to my air pistol years ago, and sometimes our cat would chew off their gun barrels. I once set fire to a big Matchbox Corvette ship in our back yard and the smoke and stink was so thick that neighbours came round hammering on the gate thinking the house was on fire. This is the only model I've got now, a Pak 75mm at the battle of Narva which i built a couple of years ago-

Shot up a US Destroyer, it was in a real stream at the time, with a Bow and Arrow. My version of a photon torpedo! Funny you should mention a stream. My buddy had an Exeter model that we put halfway on the bank of a slow moving stream. We then doused it with airplane cement and set her ablaze. Even as a little kid I thought it looked like the scuttling of the Graf Spee in the movie. Maybe that imprinted WWII on my brain
Thanks, indeed it is, PanzerKompanie 224. The good old Tamiya-kit wit a resin set for the flame-thrower variant. It still needs a lot of hours ...
