Found a link to a declassified report on German Underground Factories. Appears that there was a post-war report into the locations, number, design etc. No pics though: http://www.zenza.se/vw/mf051.pdf
This underground bunker system is still in use today by Nato forces. The first mention of this I became aware of was when I purchased the book, ME 262 Stormbird Rising, and has some good photographs of construction and present day. http://www.survivors-landsberg.com/Vortrag%20Bunkergeschichte%20Englisch.doc Translated version of http://www.luftwaffe.de/portal/a/luftwaffe/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLN483NDUIAMmB2CZhxvqREIY5TCzAECIEVheUkqrv65Gfm6rvrR-gX5AbGlHu6KgIAL9zSVg!/delta/base64xml/L2dJQSEvUUt3QS80SVVFLzZfN18xNTBQ?yw_contentURL=%2F01DB0600 Regards Tom
I know this is an old thread, but there's the remains of one of the underground factories for the Me262 not far from me in Mühldorf. It was never completed and the Americans blew most of it up when they got down here, but the last arch wouldn't blow, so they just left it and it's still there in the woods, along with the remains of the öabour camp. Bloody big thing it was. I've got some photos of it somewhere. If I can find them, I'll stick them up. bob
