Jonathan Ball It's a way of life.

I've got a copy of the German book, published in 1942, Kreta, Sieg der Kühnsten (Crete, Victory of the Boldest) and there appears to be a dedication written on a flyleaf. As it's handwritten and in German I haven't been able to work out what it says. Is there anyone who could help?

    Who knows unreadable

I wouldn't be surprised if this went to the parents of a soldier who fell.

    All the best

Not a sausage beyond names (and the date given) JB, and I bet you have those already. It's tough script to decipher!

Rolph/Ralf maybe on top line, plus Pjieter.

    12 June 1943.

    "Jenny" maybe is the writer.

    One for itDan, definitely.

I for one will be interested to read the translation when it comes in.

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.
