German pin

    Hi folks,
    I've found a pin at my granpa's which is obviously german, but I've never seen such a thing before.
    Could you please help me identifying and dating it?

    It's about 2cm diameter, and back is written "ASSMANN UND SOHNE - GES.GESCH"
