I was showing a friend this helmet I've had forever and thought I should show it to you folks as well. I've tried a couple of times to identify the marking on the side, to no avail. Someone here might have an idea.
Hi mate, Does it have a liner?....looks like an original shell but fake Decal. Join this forum http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/ and ask.....they are all extremely knowledgeable and freindly and will give you a sound answer..... Cheers mate, Donnie.
Hi Paul, Hows things? not seen you on here for a while......you think you could give me a PM ref those helmets ......dont worry its not bad news .... Donnie
Here's the inside guys. I am surprised if this is a fantasy as I've had it a long time - back into the early 70s if not late 60's. I remember the shop I got it and acquired some nice things from him over a period of years. Anyway, here is the liner. It went to school for show and tell and got mashed badly.
Hi mate, Thats the sort of dates people were beginning to start faking/making fantasy items, alot of original looking fake tend to come from the 60's-70's. Apart from that its a nice lid! ... Donnie
The liner looks ok a well worn M31 , unfortunately it was in the 60's that the fakers really began getting to work
Mores the pity on that, but as you say, Donnie, nice. Goes well beside the WW1 helmet I have from their side.
Here you go, Donnie. Enjoy. If you can read the name on the inside of the helmet, I would appreciate knowing. phil
What a BEAUTY! a cracking helmet there mate, i cant help you with the name but i no of somebody who will be able to read it so i will email him the picture...is that ok?....for what its worth the first part of the name looks like ERNST or ERNEST though you probably no this..... Thanks for the pics mate, from a jealous Donnie ...
Donnie is correct it's an M35 shell and a fantasy decal, regards Paul It's an m42, not an m35, but I agree on the insignia, completely wrong. Regards, Jerry
