A white flag for surrendering? Sorry, I couldn't resist. Bad Rodger, bad, bad. Just my twisted sense of humor.

You could try looking at some of the various shows for cheap stuff.

What you could get first is fit. Most re-enactors look just a little broad round the middle to be convincing. Your aim should be to have less fat than a butcher's pencil.

    A £70 belt for re-enacting????

My original (1942 dated one) was less than that!!!

    First you will need-

    Tunic
    Trousers
    Shirt
    Boots
    Gaiters
    Belt
    Buckle
    Helmet
    Sidecap/peaked cap

    (about 6/7 hundred quid)

    Then you will need-

    Pouches
    Cammo smock
    Gas mask tin
    Bread bag
    Y - straps
    Bayonet

    (about 300 quid)

Sorry, but your £70 isnt going to go very far. And its not as if you can just start cheaply then buy the rest later on. Perhaps you can miss out the cap, if youre happy to wear your helmet all the time.
