    Hi
I am looking for any information about german soldiers trasferred to england (to work camps) after the WWII but instead of labour work they sing in choir and travel around the Britain.

    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Greg,

This will not help much, but I watched either 'The World at War' or one of the 'Auschwitz/Nazi Germany documentries on the Yesterday channel the other week This had a reference to the lower ranked officials and SS soldiers detailed at Auschwitz, one of which having escaped imprisonment for his actions ended up in one of these travelling choirs.

He stated that he had a wonderful time, staying in local people's houses and being treated with great favour.

Hope this helps in some small way?

    Bamboo.

Thanks, Ive seen that one, his name was Oskar Gröning, he 'worked' in Auschwitz in 'administration' counting money stolen from prisoners. That is actually how I know about the choir :) I was shocked by his revelation that he had "very comfortable life" in England, ate good food and earned money giving concerts for four months.
My grandfather was forced to work in labour camps in Austria so when I heard this I just wanted to jump inside my TV and rip his heart out.
