Would someone please switch the titles of the 4th & 5th medals from the left as it is giving the wrong details- just being picky BUT...

    Cheers

Apologies. Thanks for pointing this out. Unfortunately my brother in the UK has the medals and sent me the photo. I will tell him his mistake. I have now checked and it seems the ribbons are on the wrong medals and of course they are shown on the reverse.

Thanks. You are quite right. Unfortunately my brother has the medals in the UK and he sent me the photo. I will ask him to correct it and send me another photo. It never occurred to me to check.

No need at all to apologise , they are your family medals. :)
(When I was young I used to take out my Dad's medals - always preferred the designs on the reverse )

    cos it's puzzling  :P

As you are mostly aware - I have been known to be a nit picker de luxe - so when I see something which jars my objective truth senses - I tend to react- as i did by sending by the "Quiz"

channel - not knowing where to ask any questions…… these things happen and this is why erasers are usually on the end of pencils… someone along the line would have taken this instruction of the

medals as being Gospel - such as the chap who has THE book of how the Tiger was captured and sat on the Horse Guards parade - ergo - it MUST have been captured by the Horse Guards….

and as we all know with the kerfuffle last year over THAT book and it's fictional origins - the real Truth is that Tiger was knocked out by a troop in "A " squadron 48th RTR in Tunisia - and Churchill

was NOT present at the time - but much later…..so please accept my maxima culpa...

    Cheers

Mistakes happen - so don't be too hard on your brother…. you live in a beautiful city to be mad at anyone - spent some time there living in the "Pink Lady ' or the Mount Nelson Hotel and i just loved every bit of our time there before heading off on Safari at Shamwari just North of Port Elizabeth after driving along the main highway…. as we approached the Pink lady - we admired the massive Palm trees….the driver then told us that President Clinton was due to live there on a visit - so the CIA swarmed all over the place - they recommended that the trees be cut down as they were a security hazard….it is not known what the management said to them BUT - the trees are still there - and the President stayed at the 2nd best Hotel in Cape Town ...

    Cheers

Thanks. I have removed the photo of the medals for now. Don't like to upset anyone. I also used to play with my Dad's medals so it might be my fault!!!
Glad you enjoyed CapeTown and the "Pink Lady" an icon of Cape Town. Hope you saw the sunset from Signal Hill

WE saw a few Sunsets - and Sunrises from Table Mountain etc. and had long trip all the way down the peninsula and back through Seal Island - had lunch at the Naval base - Robbens etc

and all around - fascinating country…especially around Plattenberg where we had a few days on the way to Shamwari - which was the keynote of the whole trip -- I was exhausted by the time we

reached JO'burg but happily the plane had beds and so I slept all the 12 hours back to London...

    Cheers
