This chair is in Oakengates United Church, home to the town's United Reformed Church and Methodist Churches. The chair would have come from either the Methodist or Congregational church in Oakengates, and this is the only war death-related memorial in the building that I could find.

Thanks for the link. I wasn't aware that the original WW1 plaques had been stolen, as I'd visited Oakengates in, I think, July 2013, and they were still in place then.
