I am currently researching Fusilier Arthur Albert Nuckey who is commemorated on a WW2 memorial plaque at Hindle House Arcola Street Hackney London E8. The information I have so far on Arthur is Rank Fusilier (although plaque says Private) Service No. 13064178 DOD 18/12/1944 Age 32 Regiment Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) 8th Btn. Grave Ref A III 9 Cemetery Forli War Cemetery. Son of John York Nuckey and Clara Lydia Nuckey. Arthur and his family would have been from the Arcola Street area of Hackney. His name is incorrectly spelt Nucky on the memorial plaque which we hope to get changed. According to the information on the CWGC webpage on Forli Cemetery most of those buried there lost their lives in the heavy fighting between Rimini and Ravenna, which took place in appalling conditions between Sept - Dec 1944.
I would like as much information on Arthur as possible, including making contact with his relatives.
