    Hello,

I have an account from 25 June 44. He is moving to the F.U.P. for OP Epsom and mentions following 'Front up' signs. I have tried a internet search and IWM online collection. Does anyone know what this sign looked like? Did it literally say front up?

If this is in the wrong section I apologize.

Thanks in advance for the any help.

I think the background to this is that many roads behind the lines were restricted to one- way operation to keep traffic control simple and reduce the chances of accidents. One would be the 'up' route, the other 'down'. You could also get separate 'wheels' and 'tracks' routes in parts, especially at bridges.

'Front' is rather generic, often the designated routes would be marked by formation signs or symbols.

Not sure about a defined style for these, though black on white is quite often seen. If you search here on 'bailey bridge', you should find some photos that include signage.
